Style in Season: A Mini Session With Curate by Juli J
Recently, I had the pleasure of photographing Juli, the personal stylist behind Curate by Juli J. Juli’s approach to style is thoughtful and deeply personal - she’s all about helping women feel good in what they wear, while making their wardrobes work harder for them. Naturally, that intention needed to be reflected in how she shows up visually.
We booked a mini session to give her a fresh set of images - just enough to update her website, marketing materials and brand documents. As she put it, she doesn’t have a full content plan yet, but she knew it was time for a refresh. And that’s exactly where mini sessions come in.
Sometimes, all you need is a light seasonal lift.
Not every shoot needs to be a full-blown production. A mini session is the perfect way to reintroduce yourself with new energy - especially when your work is naturally tied to the changing seasons.
For stylists like Juli, staying visually current is part of the job. Her clients want to feel seen, inspired and stylish - and having a bank of updated images gives her that flexibility to show up confidently throughout the year. But this isn’t just true for stylists...
Seasonal storytelling makes sense for:
Nutritionists and wellness professionals aligning their offers with what people need in spring vs winter.
Floral designers whose creations shift with the natural world.
Coaches or creatives evolving their message throughout the year.
Anyone whose business is grounded in rhythm, change and growth.
What I love about founders like Juli is that they know the power of showing up with intention - not just once, but consistently. There’s something quietly powerful about being visible in the right way at the right time. It sends a message: I’m here. I’m invested. I care about the details.
These shoots aren’t about ticking a box. They’re about making space to honour where you’re at and helping your audience connect with the real, evolving version of you.
If you’re feeling like your visuals no longer match where you’re at, but you’re not quite ready for a full brand overhaul - a mini session might be exactly the shift you need.
Because sometimes a subtle refresh is all it takes to reconnect with your audience - and yourself.
